Winning a large sum of money is the dream of many lottery buyers.Experts have looked into the lives of past lottery winners and have learned that not all multimillion dollar winners have a happy ending.
A common issue within our society is the belief that money solves most of our problems.
Another big problem is the lack of financial guidance when being handed over a large amount of money. In fact nearly one third of multimillion dollar lottery winners become bankrupt in just a few short years after they’re big win.

In fact, when sources interviewed his former wife; she lamented that if she had known of the calamity that lay ahead, she’d have torn the ticket up. Callie Rogers was just 16 when she won a whopping $3 million in the lottery (June 2003). Six years later, she reports that she blew untold sums on drugs, partying, exotic cars, and breast implants. A staggering $730,000 went to designer clothes alone, Ms. Rogers explains in an article from AOL. Says Rogers: "I honestly wish I'd never won the lottery money — and knowing what I know now I should have just given it all back to them.""I was spending a fortune on cocaine, a nasty evil drug that tears your life apart," says Rogers. "I'll be honest. about a quarter of a million pounds of my win has been wasted on it."
"My life is a shambles and hopefully now it [the lottery jackpot] has all gone I can find some happiness. It's brought me nothing but unhappiness. It's ruined my life," said Rogers. She's currently left with around $32,000.
Allegations that Nicky Lawson tried to steal her money and the heartbreaking worries that resulted led Rogers to attempt suicide with an overdose in 2005- the first of two tries at ending her life.
She has taken back the boyfriend who bedded her sister. The pair split after she discovered boyfriend Nicky Lawson, now 28, had slept with her 18-year-old sister while on holiday.Callie was pregnant with their first child Kian at the time.
Callie said: “He will have to live with what he did for the rest of his life – not me.
“He has made some big mistakes but he is young – we both are – young people make mistakes.
“What people don’t see is that Nicky is an amazing Dad and the children love him so much.”
Rogers has moved back into her mother's house and is working three cleaning jobs to make ends meet, according to the Mail. She has two children, ages one and four, with Lawson.
-Jeffrey Dampier (20 million dollar winner)who was murdered and kidnapped by his sister-in-law. Whoa!
-Wayne A. Schenk (2006), according to reports was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. The treatment that he needed to save his life would cost 400,000. One month later, he won a million dollar jackpot off of a scratch off ticket. He thought that his problems were over. He contacted the New York State Lottery Commission to request his monies to be paid in a lump sum. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do that. They could only pay him $50,000 a year according to sources. With a force of friends, family, financial institutions and a state assemblyman behind him to change the law; nothing happened before he married his girlfriend and died.
-Lottery winner Bud Post of Pennsylvania was nearly murdered for his money when his brother reportedly hired a hit-man to kill him in an attempt to get his cash.
-Victoria Zell won the lottery in Minnesota but soon landed in jail after being found guilty on multiple counts of vehicular homicide.
-Texan lottery winner Billie Bob Harrell sadly ended his own life after out-of-control spending sprees and an affair left him deeply in debt and divorced.
